Mr. Jacobs is a Senior Advisory Director based in Compass Advisers' New York office. With over 25 years of investment banking experience, Mr. Jacobs has advised clients in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors throughout the world, including North America, Europe, Latin America, South Africa and the Middle East.
Some of Mr. Jacobs' notable mergers and acquisitions transactions include the merger of Adolf Coors Co. and Molson Inc. to form Molson Coors Brewing Co., the sales of Nabisco Holdings Corp. to Philip Morris and Nabisco Group Holdings Corp to RJ Reynolds, the acquisition of Odwalla Inc. by The Coca-Cola Company, the sale of Keebler Foods to Kellogg Co., the sale of Snapple Beverage Company to Cadbury Schweppes, the sale of Seagram Spirits and Wine Group to Diageo, and the acquisitions of Ben & Jerry's Homemade and Slim-Fast Food Company by The Unilever Group. Mr. Jacobs also acted as sole advisor to Molson Coors Brewing Co. on its merger of its US and Puerto Rico operations with SABMiller PLC, creating MillerCoors.
Mr. Jacobs is the Founder, CEO and President of Orbin & Company, LLC, a principal investment and financial advisory firm formed in April 2007. Previously, Mr. Jacobs was a Vice Chairman of Deutsche Bank and Head of the firm's Global Consumer, Retail and Business Services Group.
Mr. Jacobs joined Deutsche Bank in July 2001 from Morgan Stanley, where he was Head of the firm's Global Consumer Group. Mr. Jacobs' ten-year career with Morgan Stanley included an assignment in London, where he started up the firm's European Consumer Group. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Jacobs was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Corporate Finance at Hambro America, the US investment banking affiliate of Hambros Bank Limited. From 1988 through 1990, Mr. Jacobs worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Morgan Stanley and, previously, was an Analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at The First Boston Corporation.
Mr. Jacobs is Chairman and principal shareholder of rTerra LLC, a renewable energy services company headquartered in Newport, Rhode Island. He is also Chairman of the Board of Advisers of Revel Seven, an organic apparel company, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's New York Tolerance Center in Midtown Manhattan. In addition, Mr. Jacobs is a member of the Board of Directors of KIK Custom Products, a consumer products company owned by Caxton-Iseman Capital, Inc.
Mr. Jacobs received an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of Business in 1988, and graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in economics from the undergraduate program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1984.
