Matteo Masi joined Compass, Rondelli Advisers in Milan as an Analyst in July 2007.  Before Compass, Mr. Masi worked as a Consultant in the Corporate Finance & Investment Banking division of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

      Mr. Masi has provided advisory services in several prominent transactions, including the acquisition led by Consilium Private Equity of Gelit, the Italian leader in the preparation of ice cream and frozen food dishes; the acquisition led by Barclays Private Equity of Gemeaz Cusin and Scapa, the food service businesses previously owned by Accor; the sale by BS Private Equity of Klopman, the leading textile manufacturer in Europe, to India‑based MW Unitexx; and the acquisition led by Barclays Private Equity and Investcorp of N&W, the European leading manufacturer of vending machines.

      Mr. Masi has worked on both public and private transactions, with experience in the areas of corporate finance and valuation for M&A transactions, financings, capital raises and restructurings.  He has evaluated the strategic and financial feasibility of proposed mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, spin‑offs, private capital raises, asset purchases and joint ventures using discounted cash flow analysis, public market and acquisition comparables, and leveraged buyout analysis.

      In addition, Mr. Masi has prepared information memoranda, management presentations, returns analyses, coordinated extensive due diligence and prepared financial models for evaluating potential synergies in cross‑border merger transactions.

      Mr. Masi graduated magna cum laude with an M.Sc. degree in finance from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.  Previously, he graduated from University of Bologna magna cum laude with a B.A. degree in business administration.  While completing his studies, Mr. Masi was elected student representative in the University of Bologna and served on both the Educational Committee and the Faculty Council.
