Filippo Lardera joined the Milan office of Compass, Rondelli Advisers as a Managing Director in February 2009.
During his 20 years in investment banking, Mr. Lardera has led a wide variety of corporate finance transactions including privatizations, strategic sales, valuations, debt restructurings and capital raisings. He was the Founder and Managing Partner of Sigma Corporate Finance, a Milan-based investment banking boutique with a particular focus on M&A and private equity. Recent clients include Netscalibur, SYZ & CO, and Roberto Cavalli.
Mr. Lardera formed Sigma following several years in the London office of GE Capital Structured Finance, where he was a Managing Director and responsible for principal investment activities in Southern Europe. At GE Capital, his primary focus was the telecommunications industry, completing investment and senior debt transactions with such companies as Italtel, Jazztel, e‑via, Vitaminic and Kiwi II.
Prior to joining GE Capital, Mr. Lardera served independently as a Senior Advisor to the government of Croatia in its $845 million sale of Croatia Telecom. Before that, he worked in the London and Zurich offices of UBS, where he was in charge of Italy and Emerging Europe for telecom corporate finance. During his 9‑year tenure at UBS, Mr. Lardera advised on various transactions between Telecom Italia and multiple European governments including those of Romania, Serbia, and Turkey as well as the government of Lithuania. Additional clients include RR Donnelly, Ferruzzi-Montedison, BCI, UBS AG, Bonifiche Siele, CIR and ENI.
Mr. Lardera began his financial career working as a country analyst in the equity research departments of London firms Phillips & Drew, County NatWest, and Databank.
Mr. Lardera is a former member of the Advisory Board and Valuation Committee of the €500 million private equity fund Kiwi II. He received an M.A. degree in business administration from Universitá Bocconi Milan (first class degree), and is fluent in English and Italian.
