Jan Gawel

Jan Gawel is a Vice President in Compass Advisers' London office. He rejoined Compass Advisers in November 2009, having spent the past five years at an investment company representing high net worth individuals on pan-European and Asian transactions in the telecommunications, mining, gaming, manufacturing and health care sectors.
Most recently, Mr. Gawel focused on the Chinese market, working with the state government on joint ventures that develop unique, non-traditional business opportunities and bringing together elements of technology, expertise and financing from the West and the Far East. Investments included wind farm development and a wind turbine manufacturing company in Guangzhou, China, the purchase of Win Systems Solutions (a Barcelona based gaming software company), and a variety of other investments.
Mr. Gawel was previously a Financial Analyst in our London office. Before his initial tenure at Compass Advisers, Mr. Gawel began his career in Toronto at CIBC World Markets in the Mezzanine Finance group, focusing on growth investments.
Mr. Gawel graduated with honors from Queen's University, Canada, where he studied applied economics.
